Voting rights

The right to vote is a fundamental, constitutional right that must be upheld. Low-income communities and communities of color are becoming increasingly disenfranchised when their votes are being suppressed. Without equal voting rights, citizens of the United States cannot seek redress of their grievances thereby often necessitating litigation as the only means to establish that right.

The Barbara McDowell Public Interest Law Center protects and defends the right to vote and ensures that the right is afforded equally to all by litigating on behalf of voters who are disenfranchised or face significant voter suppression on the state and national levels. The BMPILC also advocates for the protection and security of the right to vote of all Americans.
