Refugee and immigration rights

A growing number of people are escaping poverty, natural disaster, and political turmoil for better security, safety, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Refugees, asylum seekers, displaced people, and immigrants continue to face violations of their rights by government attempts to divert, expel, or contain them upon entering the United States.

The Barbara McDowell Public Interest Law Center defends the rights of immigrants, asylum seekers, and displaced persons by pursuing high-impact litigation that addresses violations of their constitutional rights when seeking to or entering the United States. The BMPILC also advocates for policies and legislation that protects and upholds the rights of refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants.
