Native American rights

The poverty of Native Americans exacerbated by the denial of public benefits and of their basic constitutional rights requires litigation and advocacy to end those injustices.

The Barbara McDowell Public Interest Law Center seeks to remedy the injustices against Native Americans by pursuing high-impact litigation that protects and upholds their constitutional rights, including their access to public benefits. In addition, the BMPILC advocates on behalf of Native Americans to ensure that their rights are accounted for in our nation’s policies and laws and holds governments accountable to Native Americans for failures to protect their rights.
